JESSIE AND RICK THE WALKING DEAD SERIES
This is why I love this quote and scene so much because from this one scene alone has come countless callbacks that have and will continue to reverberate throughout the series in so many ways that highlight how much they need each other and at this point are so intertwined that truly one is not okay if the other one isn’t. He was the man that would do whatever it takes to keep his son alive no matter the odds, and, hell, yeah, she was more than okay with that. Heck, she looked so lovingly at him like I will follow this man into hell and back because she would have done the same damn thing to protect her son if she had had the chance. She wasn’t afraid of him at all because she knew like her that sometimes you’ve got to be a monster to protect what’s yours. I mean, let’s face it, Daryl, Carl, and the GA were like, damn, Rick just bit a dude’s throat out and gutted another one like a pig, but Michonne wasn’t bothered in the least. I think they both knew right then and there that there was indeed something else, something different than they would have with anyone else. There was definitely a shift in their relationship at this point. And so begins their he’s okay if she’s okay and vice versa dance. She’d probably want to take Carl and run for the hills away from this crazy man, lol!īut, no, Michonne’s okay, doesn’t bat an eye. Is she going to be afraid of him after seeing what he did to Joe? No shade on Lori, but I can imagine that she would be terrified of him and would probably be grateful that he did what he did, but she would necessarily understand it or be okay. He’s always concerned with what she thinks of him. He did what he had to do, but he’s concerned with how she thinks of him now. He really isn’t too concerned with what Daryl is thinking of him or Carl for that matter at this point. And you can see Rick’s wheels turning, wondering how she feels about him now. First of all, the way they are looking at each other, not breaking eye contact at the end, not missing a step, so in sync, speaking so softly to each other. This just IMO defines who they are to each other and continue to be for each other. I’m almost to the point of saying this is my favorite Richonne everything – scene, moment, quote, everything, etc. Richonne rick and michonne rick grimes michonne jesse anderson It’s the last gasp of a ship that sank before it even sailed, but no one has mentioned that, not SG, not AL, and not even AB, and you know that if they had had sex, she would have been shouting it from the rooftops, lol! They want it to be so much more than what it was – a speed bump on the way to Richonne, sorry, not sorry. I don’t see him sleeping with Jessie and then ready to abandon her or looking at Michonne like that the next day. He’s the I’m happy and I’m going to hold your hand in public and I don’t care who knows about it kind of guy, you know, all of the things he did with Michonne.

He’s an I’m taking off my wedding ring before I move on and sleep with another woman kind of guy. He’s an I’m telling my son about this new woman in my life that may be my kids’ stepmom kind of guy. He’s not just sleeping around with random women. He’s not a hit it and quit it kind of guy. Rick is a stand-up guy, a respectful guy. That would have been a pretty big step for Rick.īut for argument’s sake say they did, it sure must not have been memorable because the next day Rick doesn’t even go check on her, never mentions her name, he’s ready to leave her and her annoying kids, and he’s giving Michonne the elevator look on that porch. That would not have been overlooked or an afterthought imo on SG’s part. The lead of the show after his wife has been dead for over a year, the next woman he decides to sleep with would be shown in all its glory, um, like Rick and Michonne or at least leave no doubt that it happened. That’s a pretty big thing, don’t you think, for Rick and for the audience.
